Chracter Profiles
Lord Protector of Cornwall, Prince of Lothian and Orkney
Gawain of Tintagel
Before the world knew Arthur, everyone whispered Gawain’s name.
Forged by captivity, duty, and war, Gawain is the young warrior prince holding Tintagel together while the rest of Britannia tears itself apart.
He does not hunger for crowns, but his strength, discipline, and command make him the man others turn to when kingdoms tremble.
As protector, brother, lover, and reluctant legend, Gawain stands at the center of a world before Camelot — a world of rival kings, ancient magic, dangerous loyalty, and impossible choices.
The Castle-Born Enchantress
Morgan le Fay
Morgan le Fay does not ask the world for permission.
Born of Tintagel and trained in Avalon, Morgan returns home with power, secrets, and a vision for a world that will no longer dismiss or control her.
Brilliant, wounded, passionate, and terrifyingly gifted, she is more than a sorceress, more than a lover, and more than a future enemy of Camelot.
She is a woman determined to make her place in the world — even if she has to set the old one on fire to do it.

The Pretty Archer
Gaheris
Gaheris sees what others miss.
Beautiful, sharp, and quietly wounded, Gaheris is the prince people admire from a distance but rarely understand. Once the older brother Agravain needed and the younger brother Gawain could trust, he now finds himself drifting in a world that seems to have outgrown his purpose.
But Gaheris is far from useless. Behind the melancholy, charm, and whispered scandals is a mind built for secrets — and when Morgan le Fay offers him a mission of his own, Gaheris begins to remember exactly how dangerous he can be.

The Terror of Tintagel
Agravain
Agravain does not wait for permission to protect his family.

Young, fearless, and already feared across kingdoms, Agravain is the kind of warrior who turns panic into courage simply by stepping forward.
Known as “the Terror,” he fights with twin broadswords, a savage grin, and a loyalty so fierce it can become dangerous.
To his allies, he is courage in human form. To his enemies, he is the sound of the door breaking open.

The Future King
Arthur
Arthur believes the world can be better. The world intends to test that belief.
Raised far from the throne he was born to inherit, Arthur is not yet the king of legend. He is young, hopeful, stubborn, and untested — a man with a good heart, a famous bloodline, and a destiny powerful enough to draw enemies before he has even learned how to lead.
To Merlin, Arthur is the future of Britannia. To Gawain, he is a painful reminder of old sins. To the world, he may be the last hope for unity — if he survives long enough to become worthy of the crown.

The Prince of Glastonbury
Maligrance
Maligrance does not simply want a future. He wants what was taken from him.
A dispossessed prince with a sharp tongue and sharper instincts, Maligrance carries the wounds of Glastonbury like a crown he has not yet reclaimed.
Proud, ambitious, and dangerous, he joins Arthur’s rising cause not out of blind faith, but because the fall of Vortigern may be the only path back to everything he lost.
But Maligrance is not an easy ally. He measures every man, resents every slight, and sees in Gawain the kind of natural authority he both respects and despises.

The Man Who Pays to Know
Sir Dagonet
Dagonet jokes because it keeps people from noticing how much he knows.
A traveler, swordsman, flirt, and collector of secrets, Dagonet moves through courts and kingdoms with a smile on his face and information in his pocket. He may seem like the least serious man in the room, but beneath the laughter is a mind built for survival.
In a world where kings, princes, and warlords all think strength begins with steel, Dagonet understands a different truth: sometimes the most dangerous weapon is knowing what everyone else is hiding.

The Fisher King
Sir Pellinore
Pellinore laughs like a man who has survived too much to fear anyone.
A former mercenary, outlaw, and warrior of terrifying skill, Pellinore is the kind of man who can turn a duel into a performance and a threat into a joke. He has lived by his sword, stained his name, and earned enough enemies to make most men disappear.
But when Arthur crosses his path, Pellinore sees something worth watching — and perhaps, for the first time in years, something worth following.

The Cathedral in Boots
Sir Bors
Bors believes strength should answer to something higher.

Massive, blunt, and serious where others are reckless, Bors brings moral weight to Arthur’s unruly company. He is a warrior of faith, a man of force, and one of the few early companions willing to speak hard truths without dressing them in charm.
In a brotherhood of dangerous men, Bors may be the one most determined to ask whether their cause is truly righteous — or merely another road to power.

The Boy from the Lake
Lancelot
Lancelot wants nothing more than to become worthy.
Raised under the care of Lady du Lac after losing his parents in Gaul, Lancelot enters Gawain’s life as a gifted young swordsman with golden hair, blue eyes, and a heart burning for purpose. He is humble, eager, and almost painfully sincere — but the moment he draws a sword, it becomes clear that his talent is anything but ordinary.
As Gawain’s new squire and the young man entrusted with carrying Excalibur to Arthur, Lancelot arrives at the edge of legend with a promise on his lips: to seek Gawain’s approval, follow his guidance, and become the knight he believes he was meant to be.

The Old Wizard with New Plans
Merlin
Merlin does not simply tell the future. He interferes with it.
Ancient, charming, secretive, and impossible to trust, Merlin arrives with one goal: to gather the dangerous young men who might help Arthur become king. He speaks of peace, unity, and destiny — but everyone who knows his name also knows his gifts come wrapped in secrets.
To Arthur, he is a mentor. To Gawain, he is a necessary enemy. To Morgan le Fay, he is proof that old men with magic can ruin entire bloodlines and call it prophecy.

The Wind-Bearer of Avalon
Sir Accolon
Accolon does not stand in Gawain’s shadow quietly.
A Knight of Avalon armed with an enchanted halberd, Accolon is proud, dangerous, and loyal to Morgan le Fay’s rising cause. He commands wind, rallies warriors, and carries himself like a man determined to prove he belongs beside the most powerful woman in Britannia.
But wherever Morgan stands, Gawain’s shadow follows. And Accolon’s hatred for the one called Gawain may be the one storm even his halberd cannot control.

The Twin Priestesses of Avalon
Evelyn and Devereux
Evelyn and Devereux are beautiful enough to enchant a court and powerful enough to freeze one.

Born and raised on Avalon, the twin priestesses arrive in Tintagel at Morgan le Fay’s side — playful, elegant, mischievous, and far more dangerous than their age suggests. They dance like spirits, laugh like girls, and wield ice, water, wind, and illusion with unsettling ease.

To Morgan, they are apprentices. To the world, they are a warning: Avalon’s next generation is already here, and it is colder than anyone expected.
